Why can we build in Essex now?

The last time EAC went to the Town of Essex, the church wanted to expand seating capacity.  For churches, seating capacity is the measurement that determines sewer allotment and parking requirements. Since the current expansion is not adding seating capacity, there will be no additional parking required. Also, the new construction is surrounded on three sides by our existing building and so it will have very minimal visual impact to our neighbors.

While we do not have permits in hand, we have had discussions with the Town Planning Office and they feel that this expansion should not have any major permitting problems.
