Just Getting Started

Family & Friend of EAC,

Several months ago, I shared a building and renovation plan for our existing church. The proposal includes significantly expanding the church lobby space and several phases for updating outdated operational and safety systems. The response was overwhelmingly positive after sharing this plan with the church community. Since then, our church leadership has assembled a capital campaign team to help us take this next step.
This expansion is not just a typical construction project; it’s about building with an eternal perspective. Our goal is to enhance our ability to build relationships and communicate to others, "We love you, and Jesus cares about you.” Our church is what it is today because those before us chose to look beyond themselves and beyond today. They wanted to continue to be a place where people gather, build relationships, and grow in their knowledge and love for Jesus for generations to come.
Let’s start with the question: "Why are we building a new lobby?" EAC has consistently faced limited lobby space in its history and past building projects. This new lobby will provide a gathering space, coffee area, and functional kitchen to support ministry activities and group events, fostering community and a sense of belonging. We want EAC to be a place of belonging - where you can invite friends to a safe and welcoming environment. A space that no matter which entrance you use, when you walk in you will feel a sense of welcoming and of being at home.
As your pastor, I feel called to strategically prepare our church for its next chapter. Our current church building exists because previous generations thought beyond themselves and built for the future. Most of those decision-makers are now with Jesus, but their vision lives on. This project is about more than our lifetimes; it is an eternal endeavor. People will come to this lobby, have coffee, socialize, and connect, creating opportunities to meet Jesus. To make this new lobby a reality, I would like to introduce EAC’s capital campaign:
Launching in June of this year, the FOR [ ] campaign seeks to transform the church's atmosphere, attitude, and energy. Rooted in John 3:16, the campaign revolves around love and generosity, offering hope for eternal life. Notice that the theme is the word “FOR” with parenthesis. The reason for this campaign and this lobby is FOR…so many things and for so many people.
EAC leadership believes this building project is strategic and will meet our needs today while preparing us for the future. We are excited about the FOR [ ] campaign, and the capital campaign team is energized to include and encourage everyone to be part of this endeavor. This project will resonate throughout the church as we think beyond ourselves and prepare for our church’s future.
Since our capital campaign is rooted in prayer, I ask you to initiate your decision to engage and participate in the FOR [ ] campaign in prayer as well. Prayer helps us trust and listen to God's guidance, allowing His word to overcome any fears or doubts. Let us be excited to witness what God does in our time while also considering the lasting impact this building project will have for years and generations to come.

We’re just getting started. There is more to come!
